Project Overview
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a growing health crisis in Bangladesh, where many patients depend on regular dialysis to survive. However, the high cost of treatment makes it nearly impossible for low-income individuals to continue life-saving care.
The Peace Foundation Dialysis Support Project aims to establish a dedicated haemodialysis unit at a partner facility to provide free, continuous treatment for vulnerable patients who cannot afford dialysis.
Why This Project Matters
- Dialysis is essential for survival in advanced kidney disease
- A single session can cost BDT 2,000–4,000 in private facilities
- Many patients are forced to stop treatment due to financial hardship
- Limited capacity in public hospitals leaves many untreated
This project addresses a critical healthcare gap by expanding access to life-saving dialysis services.
